On to this week’s match-ups

#1 Bird Gang (4-1) Bye

Bird Gang will get a bye this week after beating the Indy Bison in overtime in a very close game 32-24, in what could be a preview of the championship game at the end of the season but still have several weeks before that is here, but a much-needed rest I am sure for the BG.

#3 LCW (4-1-1NC) vs # 6 River City Sharks (3-2)

Lake Co I am sure is ready to get back to playing an actual game which has seen to be few and far between for this team this year getting stuck with teams that didn’t show up or folded before game day, however I think the Sharks will show they showed up and made the trip to Fort Wayne a few weeks ago so they are not afraid to travel to play a game.

For LCW at this point in the season they are chasing the BG and will most likely not catch them and fall into the #2 seed as they have already beat the lions as long as they win the rest of the in-conference games. Sharks are in the south conference and still could have a chance to move up in the seeding for the playoffs if they can beat the Tigers when they come to them in a few weeks but Tigers would still hold the head-to-head and the Sharks would have to outscore them and put up more than the first game they played.

River City will have a tough time dealing with the LCW defense and will have to find a way to move the ball and put points on the board if not it will be a long day for them, I think LCW takes this game in the end.

#3 Indy Bison (5-1) Forefit Win 28-0

Bison will get the 28-0 win this week as the Assassins have ceased operations and are no longer a team, the Bison up until the last few weeks had been rolling through the games with ease looking for the true test, they found that with the Racine Raiders losing 28-0 and pushing the line versus the Bird Gang coming so close in overtime loosing. 32-24. They may not have a game this week, but rest assured they will still be working hard this week to prepare for the next game as they make the road trip to the Lions.

The Bison are currently the #1 seed in the south no one really chasing them other than the Tigers and Bison will for sure win with ease the next few weeks and they travel to Ft Wayne the last week of the season which is it possible that the Tigers could get to the #1 seed, a lot of things would have to happen but we can talk about that later focus on the current weeks games. But for now, the Bison are in the driver’s seat for that #1 seed and home field advantage into the playoffs.

#4 Fort Wayne Tigers (4-1) vs #5 Michigan Hurricanes (2-2-1)

Tigers have been on a role since the 45-14 loss to the Bison and have not looked back getting into the grove that they are used to, and with the return of their starting QB and WR they have the weapons to keep going and are being underestimated by a lot of the teams in the league, could they be the sleepers of the league? Are teams overlooking them? We know what happens when teams are overlooked…but anyways don’t want to throw that false narrative out there.

The Hurricanes have shown that they are better than what most might of thought they would be and myself included due to the fact I had no idea who they were etc., but I digress they have 2 wins and tied the BG so that to me is a decent first half of the season, they look to get that 3rd win this weekend versus Fort Wayne, which won’t be easy Ft Wayne defense has been stingy as of late only giving up only 18 points in the last 3 games. This should be a tough competitive game for sure.

#7 Leyden Lions (3-3) vs #9 St Louis Falcons (2-3)

Both these teams are better than the record reflects this could be anyone’s game on Saturday for sure both teams are looking to get that win.

#9 Bucs (2-4) Forfeit 28-0

The Bucs get the 2nd win of the year unfortunately it is again by forfeit, but I guess a win is a win no matter how it comes about so they will get a rest and the Tigers next week.

All in all, so far this season has not been too bad there has been some ups and downs of course but you just keep rolling with the punches and fix it as you go each week so far other than the two teams that folded it has gone pretty well. And the league is on its way to crowning its first ever champions.
